A message from KetoCal regarding product safety

Dear KetoCal community,

You may see an article in your newsfeeds from Food Safety News that has the headline “Nutricia infant formula tests positive for Cronobacter in Australia”: https://www.foodsafetynews.com/2022/05/nutricia-infant-formula-tests-positive-for-Cronobacter/.

The article is related to Australia and has no impact on the U.S. or Canada at all. 

This is an isolated incident.  No products from the affected batch of KetoCal 3:1 had been shipped to the United States or Canada. 

No other KetoCal 3:1 batches and no other KetoCal products are affected, including our liquid products. Your KetoCal is safe for you, your child, or family member to consume and has been used by patients for over 20 years.

No other Nutricia products are involved.

Globally, Nutricia has not received any adverse reports from patients or their families from consuming the affected batch. Nutricia also carried out additional testing of the affected batch, which showed no presence of Cronobacter in these products.

We are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality products. That’s why our products undergo rigorous testing before being released for sale.  As per our food safety policies, before being released for sale, the batch also underwent microbiological testing for the presence of Cronobacter, and the batch tested negative for Cronobacter before leaving our plant.
